Design guidelines for human–robot interaction with assistive robot manipulation systems

Abstract The design of user interfaces (UIs) for assistive robot systems can be improved through the use a set guidelines presented in this article. As an example, article presents two different UI designs manipulation system. We explore considerations from these contrasting UIs. first is referred to as graphical interface (GUI), which operates entirely touchscreen representation state art. second type novel tangible (TUI). TUI makes devices real world, such laser pointers and projector–camera system that enables augmented reality. Each designed allow operated by untrained open environment grocery store. Our goal aid researchers human–robot interaction systems, particularly when designing multiple methods direct comparison.
